Photographic / Imaging Manager, The Wellcome Trust

Richard Everett manages the Wellcome Trusts photographic and Imaging facility. He began work at the Trust in 1993 as a Photographer, he was soon able to utilise his previous experience to expand the photographic remit of the department’s work to encompass press and PR work and corporate photography, in addition to the departments work in photographing the unique collections of the Wellcome Library.

In 1999 after completing a three year Diploma in Digital Imaging at North East Surrey college of Technology, Richard managed a vast in-house project to retrospectively digitise the Trusts Image collection. This was successfully completed in 2002 and he was promoted to Photographic and Imaging Manager.

Prior to the Wellcome Trust Richard had worked as a photographer at Christies Auctioneers and The British Library. He is also a qualified Medical Photographer completing his training at the Royal London Hospital between 1985-1988, where he also studied at Richmond Upon Thames College, gaining a Diploma in Photography and Design.

The Wellcome Trust is an Independent Charity funding research to improve human and animal health. Established in 1936 and with an endowment of £13 billion, it’s the UK’s largest non-governmental source of funds for biomedical research.
