Matthew Steggle

Matthew Steggle is Reader in English at Sheffield Hallam University.  His research and teaching interests are in the Renaissance period, in which his publications include Wars of the Theatres: The Poetics of Personation in the Age of Jonson (ELS, 1998) and Richard Brome: Place and Politics on the Caroline Stage (Manchester, 2004).  He has worked on several aspects of digital literary studies, including epublication; electronic editing; and teaching using Early English Books Online.  He is a contributor to Raymond G. Siemens and Susan Schreibman, eds., The Blackwell Companion to Digital Literary Studies (Blackwell, forthcoming).  He edits the peer-reviewed electronic journal Early Modern Literary Studies (http://purl.org/emls).
